New years drift party.
PSA:if you are making a 7 hour trip by car.... be careful in what you choose to eat
For me this trip started the day before the event. John from Autofactory Realize invited me to join him in his truck as we towed his drift car up for this event. I was planning on driving up but this was way more convenient plus it would be a good time to catch up with John.
When we arrived we were immediately greeted with miles of smiles. Talk about SPG(smiles per gallon). We partied somewhat then got ready for the next day of drifting. There was no competition this time around. A day of spirited drifting among friends.
Once at the track I just went into autopilot mode. I went around socialized, helping with friends' cars, driving a car and shooting photos. To be honest with you guys, I was having so much fun in this environment that I shot for maybe half the day. The rest of the time I spent with the people who attend these events. It makes the drive up worth it.
I made more friends and got to witness some nutty tandem trains. Walking around the pits you saw cars with tire marks on doors left and right. Smiles and high fives everywhere you looked. If you look closely at this image below you can see Nick Michuda NOT driving his car!
Thank you to everyone who puts a hand into making these events happen. The drifting that you guys are cultivating is something that I admire. I could not think of a better way to send off the old year and usher in the next. Looking forward to the coming events.
